Chris Bryant, a Labour member of the Commons media select committee, has accused the BBC of "bribing" viewers to watch digital TV.

Bryant claims that in many areas of the country, including his Rhondda constituency in south Wales, viewers who want to switch over to digital TV must rely on BSkyB because of the limits of cable and Freeview coverage.
