IDS facing leadership plot
A cabal of senior Tory MPs is seeking the backing of constituency associations before tabling a no-confidence motion in Iain Duncan Smith, reports today's Times.
The paper says that half a dozen MPs, including frontbenchers, have decided to seek support from their local parties in advance of a leadership challenge in order to avoid accusations that they are countermanding the mandate Duncan Smith received from Tory members in the 2001 leadership contest.
