Labour pleads guilty over donation law breach

The Labour Party has written to Britain's political watchdog admitting to 120 separate cases in which local parties have broken the law on donations.

The party's general secretary, David Triesman, said: "We are not seeking to duck responsibility or make any excuses. These laws are there for the right reasons, but there is no suggestion of sleaze or even that anyone broke them willingly. I am sure there are similar problems in other political parties."
