Conservative high-flyer Sue Catling has had her future in the party thrown into doubt after a series of "sex smears" by opponents, reports the Mail.

She was one of just 10 parliamentary candidates fast-tracked through the selection process, but now faces a petition calling for her to be deselected as candidate for the Yorkshire marginal of Calder Valley.
