Straw to acquiesce on Mugabe visit
Jack Straw is today expected to strike a deal allowing Robert Mugabe to visit Paris for talks.
The foreign secretary will back down from a threat to block the Zimbabwean president's visit in exchange for French support for continuing sanctions against the African state.
Straw travels to Brussels for a meeting of EU foreign ministers having previously opposed the idea of Mugabe being allowed to break a ban on Zimbabwean officials visiting Europe.
