Iain Duncan Smith is to announce that Paul Baverstock, who currently works with Tim Bell's PR agency, is to be his new director of communications.

"The public is thirsty for some straight forward politics and Iain Duncan Smith is exactly the right man to give it to them," Baverstock told the FT.
