International development secretary Clare Short has renewed her attacks on Labour spin doctors claiming they are making the government look "crummy and lousy".

In an interview with yesterday's Observer, she said that Labour's record in office was better that it presentation had made it seem.

"This is basically a good government with a crummy, lousy style," she argued.
