Bank set for 'big changes'
The Bank of England will undergo "big changes" when Mervyn King succeeds Sir Eddie George as governor next summer, reports the FT.
The paper quotes an economist who knows both men: "Mervyn may have been at the Bank for 10 years or so but he is essentially an outsider with little time for the Bank's traditions, unlike Eddie who has worked at the Bank all his life and is loyal to the institution."
