Kevin Marsh, the editor of the World at One and PM programmes on Radio 4, has been named as the new editor of the Today programme.

Alastair Campbell, the prime minister's director of communications, wrote to the Guardian recently accusing staff on the World At One of systematically giving "more coverage to stories they believed to be damaging to the government".
