Major the 'risk taker' revealed by Edwina
Edwina Currie's diaries continue in The Times today.
The latest extract reveals details of a conversation in the flat above Number 10 after Major had become prime minister in 1992.
Currie says she criticsed him for not appointing any women to his cabinet and goes on to say she became involved with him because he was someone "who likes to walk on the edge, take a risk".
Currie recieved a barrage of criticism from leading Tories yesterday.
David Mellor, the former cabinet minister, accused her of behaving "like a cheap trollop."
A former woman cabinet minister tells today's Telegraph: "First reaction was 'Gosh!' but that was quickly overtaken by the view that crucifixation is too good for her."
The Mirror claims the "third man" to have an affair with Currie was Tory aide Peter Clarke and reveals lurid details of their passions including an illicit coupling in Major's Commons office.
