Liddle steps down as editor of Today

Rod Liddle has resigned from editing Radio 4's Today programme after he was accused of bias by attacking the countryside march in a newspaper article.

The Telegraph, which accused him of pro-government bias last week, says in its editorial: "Rod Liddle had to go. The editor of Today, the BBC's flagship radio news programme, cannot sneer at countryside marchers and appear to endorse support for Labour in his column in the Guardian without abandoning his duty of impartiality."
