A British MEP has been fined £100 for staging what the judge described as a "highly irresponsible" protest against Britain's laws on cannabis.

Chris Davies, the Liberal Democrat MEP for the north west of England, admitted to possessing a small amount of the drug during a demonstration outside Stockport police station last December.
