'Gay rights' adoption bill attacked by peer

The House of Lords is facing calls to reject government-backed proposals to permit homosexual, lesbian and unmarried couples to adopt children.

Conservative peer Lady O'Cathain, who is leading the opposition to the change in the law, said MPs had been "got at by the gay rights lobby".
