Tony Blair's support for America means he is in danger of "ostracising" Britain's two million Muslims, the secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain will warn today.

Iqbal Sacranie will say that the British and American policy on Iraq could be perceived as "an indiscriminate war on Islam - what president Bush has slipped into calling 'a crusade'."

He will also call on the prime minister to find a policy which "holds the entire country together in these difficult times".
