Labour threat to farming jobs revealed

The National Farmers' Union will launch a ten-day publicity campaign today ahead of the Liberty and Livelihood march on 22 September.

They will claim that more than 400 farming jobs have been lost every week since Labour came to power.

A delegation from the union will join the march next week against a ban on hunting with dogs.

Police chiefs have called for a new law to combat landowners who say they will ignore a ban on hunting and allow it to continue on their land.

A poll last week indicated that 63 per cent would oppose a ban and 47 per cent would be willing to break the law to defend the right to hunt.
