A new biotechnology watchdog as called for animals to be protected from "fundamentally objectionable" cloning.

The Agriculture and Environment Biotechnology Commission raised objections to scientists offering to clone people's favourite pets.

The government advisers also warned that GM salmon should not be introduced into British fish farms.
