Digby Jones yesterday called on the government to help create an extra 300,000 jobs in tourism over the next five years - vacancies which could be filled by immigrants.

"We need them because we have not got enough skilled people," the CBI leader said. "Those who are prepared to work, whatever their religion or colour, would be welcome."
