Government warned over health spending

Ministers are in danger of wasting billion of pounds on the NHS by increasing spending too fast, the Office of Health Economics warned yesterday.

The economists said: "There is an unexplained gap between the government's planned extra spending on the NHS, and projected increases in NHS staffing and resources."
