Lib Dems debate porn laws

The Lib Dems yesterday kicked into touch a motion supporting the relaxation of the porn laws after a tense - and sometimes explicit - debate in Brighton.

One delegate, who runs a sex shop and porn website, said it was wrong that 16-year-olds could have sex, pay taxes, fight in a war but could not "buy products for their sexual arousal".

But others took a harder line on the exploitative nature of the pornography industry.

"How many times does a woman have to be buggered on screen. Once? Five times? Ten times? This is not consensual," said Lynne Ravencroft.
