Labour Party membership falls
Labour' s annual report published yesterday reveals that membership has dropped by 40,000 over the last 12 months.
The report also highlighted the party's troubled finances, currently running at a deficit of £8.9 million.
Labour's general secretary, David Triesman, says in the report: "Getting our finances in order is not an optional extra. It is a prerequisite to our ability to organise, campaign and communicate."
