Marr: I'm not biased
In an interview with today's Mirror, the BBC's political editor, Andrew Marr, denies a pro-Downing Street bias.
"The BBC is completely ruthless. If they thought I was showing bias, I'd be out the door," he says.
Marr reveals that his mobile phone was "molten" after his prediction during the last election campaign that Labour's tax proposals didn't work for the full lifetime of a future parliament.
"Gordon Brown was visibly angry. So was Blair ... But we were spot on. At the last spending review they did exactly what the BBC said."
When asked if Alastair Campbell is constantly complaining about his reporting, Marr replies: "He's not that relentless. If you complain too much, no one listens. But I give as good as I get ... If someone is trying to bully you, the only way is to shout back."
