A report by the foreign affairs select committee yesterday concluded that Robert Mugabe has "lost the moral right to govern his people" in Zimbabwe.

However, the report concluded that British aid should still be directed to the country, to prevent a food crisis caused by restrictions on farming, but should ensure that the funds go to aid agencies rather than the president's regime.
