The National Housing Federation yesterday warned that plans to impose company insolvency rules on housing associations would cause administrative and financial chaos.

The plans are contained in the government's enterprise bill.

The office of the deputy prime minister, which has responsibility for housing, said it was "monitoring the position closely".
