Government deny nuclear factory claims
The Ministry of Defence has brushed off suggestions that it had plans to develop a nuclear bomb-making factory at an atomic research plant.
Speaking during defence questions in the Commons, junior defence minister, Lewis Moonie, said: "Work going on in Aldermaston is no secret and is in order to maintain the reliability of our nuclear deterrent faced with the fact that we no longer test these weapons."
