Gwyneth Dunwoody yesterday told MPs that government privatisation plans for the tube "replicates the problems we saw in Railtrack."

Speaking during a debate on the proposed PPP, the outspoken chairman of the Commons transport select committee said she had concerns about whether London Underground would have sufficient staff to monitor safety.
