Ministers to target truancy
The department for education and skills is to launch a new campaign against truancy after a two week crackdown revealed that more than 2000 children were found out of school, and 90 per cent of students absent from lessons were found to have no parental permission.
It comes as the NASUWT has produced a list of the worst behaved students in the country, many of which its members refuse to teach.
