The cabinet secretary, Sir Richard Wilson, is today accused of covering up vital documents relating to the Hinduja passports affair.

The parliamentary ombudsman, Sir Michael Buckley, says the Home Office and the Cabinet Office "appeared to be withholding papers, which they readily acknowledged existed".
