Embattled transport secretary, Stephen Byers, is making headlines over row surrounding the departure of his media chief, Martin Sixsmith.

He faces a Commons motion of censure tabled by the Conservatives after refusing to explain why he misled the Commons.

The affair dominated PMQs yesterday where the prime minister defended Byers.

"I don't accept people were misled at all," he told MPs.
