Straw mends US fences
Differences between Europe and the US are largely due to incorrect mutual perceptions on both sides of the Atlantic, Jack Straw has said.
The foreign secretary used a visit to the States on Wednesday to call on the US and Europe to settle their differences over trade.
He also picked a fight with EU commission president, Romano Prodi, rejecting his claims that the UK's relationship with the US restricts its role in Europe.
