Gordon Brown was involved in a safety scare when he flew to New York on Concorde on Friday, it has emerged. As Brown pored over his notes alongside trusted aide Ed Balls, his attention was diverted by a loud bang as the supersonic aircraft lurched forwards due to engine problems.
