Downing Street complains over funeral claims
An enraged Number 10 has lodged a formal complaint with the Press Complaints Commission following reports that the prime minister attempted to muscle in on the funeral of the Queen Mother.
A spokesman described reports suggesting that Tony Blair tried to alter the arrangements for the lying-in-state as "a complete lie".
The Spectator, the Evening Standard and the Mail on Sunday have claimed the prime minister was seeking to play a major and highly-visible role in the event.
