CBI calls for £2 billion tax cut for business
In its annual Budget submission today, the CBI is calling on Gordon Brown to deliver £2 billion of tax cuts for businesses and a halt on further spending increases to prevent any further tax rises.
CBI director general Digby Jones said businesses should not be seen as a "soft touch" for raising revenue.
He linked recent falls in corporate profitability to increased taxes on companies which, he said, were "eating into the ability of firms to fund expansion".
