Post strike over job losses averted
The possibility of a postal strike has receded after Consignia and the Communication Workers Union struck a deal over job losses in the service.
Negotiations have avoided 30,000 compulsory redundancies over three years, with job losses made on a voluntary basis.
The union's executive meets to consider the £400 million package today but problems remain over an ongoing pay dispute.
