Teachers warn of profiteering agencies
Teaching agencies are profiteering from staff shortages in schools, head teachers have warned.
Prices have risen by 40 per cent in some cases, charging up to £250 per day for staff which, the National Association of Head Teachers warns, are not up to the job.
General secretary David Hart said: "Schools are spending far too much of their budgets on supply teachers provided by agencies that don't seen to care much about quality control."
