'End of the world' - BBC drops global identity
In the interests of representing the "diversity and totality" of its audience the BBC is to ditch the image of the earth as its symbol.
Eight new "idents" with a rhythm theme, costing £700,000, will show dancers, black disabled sportsmen and acrobats wearing the broadcaster's new signature colour of red.
