Naval jobs cut
Defence minister Adam Ingram yesterday announced that up to 750 jobs could be lost at naval bases at the Clyde, Portsmouth and Plymouth.
Another 3000 jobs will be transferred to companies in the private sector in a move to save the taxpayer £300 million over the next five years.
Workers at the bases have threatened strike action over the proposals.
