Former Labour leader Michael Foot is to lead a financial appeal to save Tribune magazine.

In a fratricidal dispute, the left-wing magazine is being threatened with libel action by trade union chief and senior Labour figure Sir Ken Jackson.

The journal's editor Mark Seddon is a member of the Labour Party's national executive.
