Labour MP calls for arrest of anti-semitic Muslims

David Blunkett is facing a call from his own backbenches to order the arrest of Islamic militants who have been accused of distributing anti-Semitic propaganda.

Andrew Dismore, the MP for Hendon, said: "I find it hard to understand why action is not taken against these people, their groups and their material. The dubious benefit of seeing who they associate with and who they meet is outweighed by the harm they do in stirring up hatred."

The Home Office said that although it took cases of racial hatred "very seriously", individual cases are the concern of the police and the Crown Prosecution Service.
