PCC under pressure to halt Wakeham's wages

The Press Complaints Commission may face calls to stop paying Lord Wakeham his £156,000 salary when the watchdog's funding committee, the Press Standards Board of Finance, meets today.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that a formal complaint against Lord Wakeham's conduct as a non-director of Enron will be lodged with the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

If the complaint, by AFL-CIO, an American trade union federation, is upheld it could lead to Wakeham being struck-off as a chartered accountant.
