Police have swooped on Leicester al Qaeda suspects arresting eight as another two appeared in court charged with offences linked to Osama bin Laden's terror network.

The arrests of Algerians and North Africans are not believed to connected to September 11 attacks on the US but with earlier planned attacks on France. The FBI have released video images of five would-be al Qaeda "martyrs" culled form videos seized form the bombed out wreckage of Muhammad Atef, Bin Laden's military strategist.
