Government extends insurance cover for airlines

The government is to renew an insurance scheme allowing aircraft to keep flying after September 11. The Treasury was forced to step in after insurance underwriters proposed to limit third party cover to £34 million per aircraft after the attacks. The programme is set to be extended to March 20.
