Banks accused of 'fixing house prices'
The Daily Mail reports that two of Britain's biggest banks are reducing the risk of high debt with a downturn in the market by "fixing" house prices.
NatWest bank and Alliance and Leicester are accused of limiting amounts that can be borrowed on properties in prime locations, including London, Portsmouth and Oxford.
The Halifax will today discuss the issue with the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the paper reports.
