Hoon: Europe's defence 'can't always depend on the US'
In an FT interview, defence minister Geoff Hoon argues that September 11's terror attacks on the US had reinforced the EU dynamic towards a European defence policy. Hoon warned that Europe "can't always depend on the US" for its defence needs.
