London 'frustrated' with Washington
The government is becoming increasingly frustrated with the US over the way the war is going in Afghanistan, reports today's Guardian.
The prime minister held a Downing Street meeting with Pakistan's president, General Musharraf yesterday. At the subsequent press conference, Tony Blair made it clear that contrary to Musharraf's advice, the Allied bombing of Afghanistan would continue through the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
"Of course we have to be aware of the sensitivities of Ramadan ... but the taliban will continue to fight during that month. I think everyone understands that the campaign has to continue ultimately until the objectives are secured," he said.
