Department of Health in MS drug deal

The Department of Health is in discussion with four drug companies to arrange a "risk-sharing" agreement which would allow the NHS to provide beta interferon - a drug that relieves the symptoms of multiple sclerosis.

The deal comes as the National Institute for Clinical Excellence is set to conclude that the drug is too costly to stock on the NHS.
