Tony Blair looks set to face criticism of his handling of the military conflict in Afghanistan at today's meeting of the Labour Party's National Executive Committee.

NEC members Mark Seddon and Christine Shawcroft, who intend to force a vote at the meeting, will table a resolution rejecting the idea that terrorism can be defeated by "force of arms".
