The governor of the Bank of England, Eddie George, has delivered an upbeat assessment of the UK's economic prospects following the attacks of September 11. Speaking after a meeting of G7 finance ministers, he said that the attacks on the US "didn't have a very significant impact on the domestic part of the country".
