No anti-Muslim backlash

An NOP poll for the Telegraph finds that fears of an anti-Islam backlash following September 11 have not materialised with only one in eight viewing Muslims less favourably after the attacks. But 45 per cent of those surveyed believed that Muslim leaders had not condemned the attacks in sufficiently strong terms.

The findings are confrmed by an ICM poll for the Guardian showing that 64 per cent do not believe that Islam is a threat to "western values".
