Deputy PM John Prescott has appealed to people to "show a bit of humanitarianism" and reach out to greet Muslims warmly. Prescott said that people should approach Muslims in the street to "express their solidarity and concern" as the community fears a violent backlash following the terrorist attacks on the US.
