London mayor Ken Livingstone announced yesterday that he will not appeal against the high court's ruling that the government is entitled to impose its public/private plans on his administration.

After taking legal advice he said he would not make an appeal against the ruling but warned that further legal challenges to the controversial plans could follow.

Transport Minister, John Spellar, welcomed the move and expressed hope that all parties could work together.
